Redwood River School website designed and developed by Lolly Agency

The first chapter

Launching a brand-new school is a rare opportunity. There’s no existing identity to evolve, no familiar look and feel to refresh. Just a vision, a blank page and the chance to create a place people feel they already trust before they walk through the door for the very first time.

That was exactly the journey we shared with Redwood River School.

Supporting children with specialist learning difficulties, Redwood River School needed a brand that felt reassuring from the very first interaction. Parents are making one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, so every detail needed to communicate warmth, trust and professionalism in equal measure.

We began by creating the school’s visual identity, from the logo and colour palette through to an email banner for staff footers, giving Redwood River School a distinctive and consistent presence from day one. The visual identity balances confidence with character, reflecting a school that’s both nurturing and ambitious.

From there, we designed and developed a bespoke website inspired by its beautiful rural Devon surroundings. Gentle curves and flowing graphic elements echo the nearby river, creating a playful visual language that runs throughout the site. The result feels calm, welcoming and full of personality, while remaining clear and intuitive to navigate.

The website also had an important practical role to play. Alongside introducing prospective families to the school’s ethos, environment and approach, it needed to make essential information, policies and governance documents easy to access, ensuring it meets the expectations of parents and the requirements of Ofsted alike.

Behind the scenes, we built a fast, responsive website with strong SEO foundations, giving Redwood River School a digital platform that’s ready to grow alongside the school itself.

Every student has a first day and every story has a first chapter. By the time teach new student arrives, the brand has already started telling its story. If we’ve done our job well, families won’t simply recognise the school, they’ll feel confident they’ve found the right one.
