You may remember us mentioning a lovely intergenerational project last year which saw two generations come together in Sherborne – homeowners from McCarthy & Stone and children from the local primary school.

Following the huge success of the scheme McCarthy & Stone has chosen the national reading charity Beanstalk as their charity partner for 2019 in a bid to help continue to inspire the next generation of readers.

They have pledged to raise a huge £100,000 while encouraging both staff and homeowners to spare some time to volunteer at a school. To help promote the partnership to their 17,000 homeowners and 2,000 staff members, they’ve asked for our support in the Studio. We created a collection of brand assets which included bold, bright, story-book illustrations and vibrant infographics to inspire supporters. A fundraising pack filled to the brim with creative ideas, posters and leaflets were delivered to developments and a 6-page spread is planned for the latest edition of Emerald magazine.

While assisting with the launch of the partnership at Poole Park Primary School, short interviews were filmed for use across socials to promote the importance of intergenerational living. It was a delight to chat to the inspiring Channel 4 journalist and Beanstalk ambassador Jon Snow (slightly star struck!) as he spoke passionately about reading and the importance of bringing together different age groups in the community – we couldn’t agree more.

We have worked closely with McCarthy & Stone supporting many initiatives which go above and beyond just selling houses, but to fulfil their vision and promise of creating retirement living to the full. We very much look forward to seeing the work in the pipeline come to life.
